First Hair Cut

I am very interested to see if Leify's hair is going to be curly...and am willing to try almost anything. My sister Dana said to cut his hair and see what happens. So that is what we did! First I cut Leif's hair and then I held Leify while Leif put the #2 on and went to town on Leify's hair. It was so sad to see his hair falling on the ground-but I must say he makes a very CUTE bald guy! He thought the vibrations on his head were hilarious and was actually laughing. He is so funny sometimes.

Mia Grace Hasselblad

I have another neice!! Mia arrived today just after 4pm(they are in Colorado). She weighed in at 6lbs 2oz and was little over 19 inches long. I can't wait to meet her! I will share some pictures whenever I get some. Yay!

Working with Dad

Leify has a walker outside in the office so we can hang out with Leif. He cracks me up in it......HE LOVES LILLIE.

It's Alliiiivvvveeee

So Leify is totally mobile, the same night he had learned to crawl like a champ he surprised Leif and I by standing up in his crib. That is now his favorite thing to do. If he is on the floor he crawls to something to climb up, or if in his crib he is up in a matter of seconds and knawing on the rail.

What the heck happened?!?!

He is hilarious, so much fun and I just love him to death.

On Father's day we went out to Battle Ground Lake; to my surprise it is gorgeous! It reminds me of Timothy lake, we made a trip around the lake and enjoyed being outside. I liked it so much that I have made us reservations to go camping there the end of the month.

The Beach

For Leif and I's anniversary we made the trip to the condo to celebrate on Thursday night. It was comical because while we were gone the weather back in Battle Ground was 75 degrees and sunny. We had rain, wind and more rain. We traveled down to Seaside hoping that the weather would be a little warmer. It was, but Leif still had to buy a coat. In my delusional thoughts and ideas I packed him a T-shirt and shorts...he was freezing his tush off. We had a great time, it is so weird to be without Leify.
Here is a picture of the Astoria bridge on the way to Ocean Park that night.

Thankful Thursday

I am out in the apartment since Leify is taking a nap, and have no way of putting pictures on right now. So I am going to start with Thankful Thursday. I'll do an update later with pictures!

1. Hot Showers-basically they're the best end possible to a long day. Nothing quite beats letting hot water pour down you... getting rid of all the frustration from a day in the life of "Mom".

2. Makeup-From the time I was about 15 I have been completely fascinated with makeup. I used to go to the clinque counter about once every 2 weeks while in High School and have them do my makeup. They taught me lots of cool tricks and helpful tips.

3. The Internet-How else would I be able to keep in the know about my two absolutely darling new nieces?!?

4. Sister-In-Laws-I have the coolest, funnest, prettiest, and downright awesomeest (I don't know if any of those are actually words) sister-in-laws EVER. They have been great to me! Yvonne is someone who I truly enjoy talking to and has helped me through many a tough situation. She is so easy going and tells me like it is. I love her! Nicole, well I could reasonably understand if she hated my guts, I wasn't the nicest or most welcoming sister-in-law in the beginning. But she has become a great friend! She is honest, which is a trait I love. I know I can trust her with anything. Being pregnant together was really cool, I had someone to talk to about every little thing that happened and she knew exactly what I meant. Husbands have no idea. I am so thankful for both of these awesome Mama's and the examples that they have been and continue to be in my life.

5.The Sun-Ugh, need I say more? The past few days have been so nice! Leify and I have been talking walks, soaking up those rays, and enjoying every minute of it!

6. Eternal Marriage-My lesson last week was about the Blessings of the House of Israel. It really opened my eyes. I am so thankful to be a member of the LDS church and for the opportunity I have to spend FOREVER with Leif and our children. Nothing can touch that, nothing here in mortality could tempt me or persuade me to forsake it. I am so grateful for a Heavenly Father who loves me and blesses me constantly.

7. Chocolate Cake-Yum.

Happy Birthday Aspen!!

We love you, and wish we could be celebrating this big day with you...but we will see you soon. (Not soon enough, but soon) We hope your day has been great!!!

Not sort of anymore

The kid is definitley on the move. Here is a video sorry it's sideways again. Geeze.

Thankful Thursday

I am stealing this idea from Jaime. I think it's a great idea, I am never vocal enough about things or people who I appreciate in my life.

On a side note COURTNEY, if you're reading this...go to Jaime's page she has a clip from Twilight!

1. First and foremost I am thankful for Leif, he is truly my best friend. He supports me in whatever I do, and encourages me if I am having a tough time doing it. He works so hard, both with just plain old work, school, dad, and husband. I need to remember that he has a lot on his plate, and I don't recognize all that he does do. I am so grateful that he has provided me the opportunity to stay home and raise our son.

2. The other most important guy in my life is also named Leif. This precious little man has taught me so much about myself, and molded me into a (hopefully) better, less selfish person. I tend to be a quiet person, but having Leify has helped me be a little more outgoing, I have met a lot of new people and just talking to him has helped me too. I am not going to lie...at first it was really weird talking to a little baby who had no idea what was going on. We read a lot together though, and that makes it not so weird ;) The older he gets the less weird it gets for me. He is such a joy, I look forward to the mornings he is a morning person full of smiles and it makes my day start great. Some days I find that my patience is worn thin and I need some "alone" time, but 15 minutes into that much looked forward alone time I am missing Leify. I start wondering why I needed that time in the first place. He has taught me to love unconditionally. He is truly a gift in my life.

3. My parents. Leif and my staying here has turned out to be a much longer stint than EVER planned. The building of our house has delay after delay I am grateful that they have put up with us this long and my dad's philosophy of family "I like ya, but I'll cut ya" hasn't been put in full force (YET).

4. I am grateful for the opportunity to stay home ( I know I already included it in #1...but I am very thankful) Staying home has allowed me to explore different things I have started to sew, do paper crafts, and most recently take an interest in cooking. I made these last night for an activity

5. My Laurel Advisor calling at church, I am having so much fun with this! The girls in my ward are great and I have already learned so much from preparing the lessons for Sunday. I was getting so bored having nothing to do and I am thankful for this opportunity where I have turned out to be quite busy!

Vacay's

Yesterday I planned two upcoming vacations, and am so excited! We traded our time from our condo so we could stay at these awesome places.

First, in November we are going to stay at The Grand Timber Lodge in Breckenridge CO. Malo and Yvonne are going to come and stay with us, and we're going to have some fun in the snow! I was able to get a two bedroom unit with a kitchen, which was perfect.

Next in May we are going stay at The Imperial Fiesta Club in Cancun to celebrate Leif's graduating from College. We have decided to take lil Leif with us. I didn't feel comfortable leaving him for 7 days. I can't wait to go back and see more ruins!

A New Find

In an ever effort to save money I found this awesome website called restaurant.com. They sells you $25 value gift certificates for $10, $50 value for $20...and so forth all the way up to $100 value for $40. What you do is put in your zip code and then it brings up several restaurants that are in your area. There aren't large name places like Red Robin or Olive Garden... it is mostly small places that are locally owned. Isn't that cool!?!?
I found the website on another site called mormonchic.com under the "deal diva chic" tab. This sites has lots of good sites to visit, and other info.
Just thought I would share my exciting and money saving news!

Leif and I were married two years ago today!! Crazy. It has gone by so fast, sometimes it freaks me out, I am a little phobic about getting old. The other day I went to a resale shop called Plato's closet and they turned me and all my clothes away saying they were "too mature". I felt like crying, ugh, I am getting old. Later I convinced myself that they turned me away because my clothes weren't hoochie mama night club scandalous enough, and that made me feel a little better.

We are going to the condo on Thursday night to celebrate, Leify is having his first overnighter with Grandma. We had planned on going to Mt.Hood (I had the room booked and everything) and then I found out that the Summer Adventure Park isn't open until the end of the month. Poor planning on my part. At least I thought to look it up before we left though! Luckily we had some banked time and were able to get a night at the condo. Which is even better because it's free!

Leify is absolutley everywhere!! I am going to have to start vaccuming everyday it seems, now that he is on the move. Lily sheds sooo much!!!

It's hard to say that I have a favorite wedding photo, the guy that did our wedding and engagement photos was amazing. He took over 500 pictures and there are so many good ones...so this is just one of my favs :)

Crawling (Sort of)

Leify is on the move! It is so crazy to be seeing him move, oh my gosh! He has started using his arms and he actually crawls forward a bit before he plops down. He just isn't strong enough to go for along time, but I am sure he'll build up the stamina fast enough now that he has figured out the process.
Last night we went to a Ward activity that my Dad planned, all about missionary work and each family that came was supposed to bring a dish from the mission that the "head of the house" served in. It was pretty stinking cool, there was lots and lots of good and different food. A nice alternative to the numerous pasta dishes that usually show up. Leify ate like a pig, he had food all around him it was very apparent where he had been sitting. As soon as we got into the car he was out, and slept peacefully through the night with a big fat belly of rice.

Thursday night we had the opportunity to go with my parents and brother Patrick to a Timber's soccer game at PGE Park. My parents are occasionally invited to the "PGE Box" because of their business; we had a great time! Leify was interested in what was going on. He really enjoyed it when the mariachi dancers came out on the field during half time and were flipping around in their bright dresses.

Friday night we went to Grandma Vi's and had dinner. It is always so great to see her, she was nice enough to buy us pizza (which was really good) Her and Leify played with a ball, he thought it was hilarious and was actually laughing out loud about it. He started crawling over at her place too, he just thought that the ball was SOOO cool.

Saturday I went to a children's resale shop...I had planned on having a garage sale, but since the weather is ALWAYS so disgusting I opted for the resale shops. (I went to a consignment shop for my clothes) Anyways I was pretty excited, from the stuff I sorted out of Leify's I got $84. I thought that was awesome!

My latest project

Dana brought a father's day album kit with her to the beach. A lady she buys stamps from was selling them. But now Dana is selling stamps herself, yay! So if anyone wants stamps she's the lady to go to (you like that little commercial) Anyways, I wasn't too crazy about the colors and decided that I was going to make my own. I made up 6 more albums and am taking them to mutual tonight for a Laurel class activity..they're going to use the stuff from the lady that I wasn't too crazy about. Problem solved! ;) I made this for Leif for Father's day.

The Condo

This past weekend I "hosted" a birthday party at Leif and I's condo for my mom's birthday. It just happened to work out perfectly time wise. We had a really great trip. I think the highlight for me was going out to breakfast and having the "Hillbilly Heap", I mean doesn't that just sound good? Lol, but we just hung out...went shopping, walked on the beach, ate lots of cake, watched movies, and did crafts. It is nice to get away. Leify was awesome, I think he was loving all the extra attention. He just goes with the flow, I have no idea how I ended up with such an easy going baby. He loved the beach, I actually thought he was going to hurt my back because he was so excited. He was literally jumping up and down in the backpack. He thought going down the slide with Courtney (my neice) was pretty cool too. Court and I went swimming with Leify too. Leify was kicking his legs like a maniac. He is so much fun!
I didn't take too many pictures...I don't know why, but here is what I have.

The Car

So my mom picked up this car at a Garage sale about a month ago, I have been waiting for Leify to get a little bigger before we tried it out. He loves it! He looks like such a big boy holding onto the steering wheel. But for some reason it is sideways. Either this doesn't work for me....or it's jacked up. Ugh.

Pictures

Here are some pics of our meanderings these past couple weeks. Leif and I bought some nerf bars for our anniversary. It makes getting into the truck MUCH easier for me!
